Activities may be offered as short sessions, workshops, presentations, practical demonstrations, and guided exchanges so elders can participate at different levels of energy, autonomy, and interest.

Activities and live music

Elders Reunion 2026 will offer a range of engaging activities, live testimonials, inspiring storytellers, and practical workshops.

Music will be presented during the opening and closing festivals. Participants will discover cultural presentations, intergenerational sharing spaces, and experiences that highlight First Nations and Inuit community heritage.

Movement

Move at your own rhythm

  • Short sessions on normal aging versus deconditioning
  • Adapted physical activity programs for elders at different intensity levels
  • Active bingo, fall prevention, and related prevention training
Nutrition

Eating well to age in health

  • Cooking activity connected to elder wellness and nutrition
  • Training on the signs of malnutrition and dehydration
  • Preventing deconditioning with emphasis on traditional food
Memory and culture

Wellness adapted to communities

  • Traditional clothing fashion show featuring elders
  • Workshop on dementia and presentation of the CICA tool
  • Workshop on the 6 pillars of First Nations wellness
